STATEWIDE PROPOSITIONS
Proposition 2: Oppose - Provides critical funding for local school repairs and safety projects. Prop 2 guards against higher property taxes, lowers costs for homeowners, and imposes strict accountability and public disclosure, and mandates independent audits to protect the money from Sacramento politicians.
Proposition 3: Neutral - ACA 5 repeals a provision of the California Constitution in conflict with federal law and adds a provision providing that marriage is a fundamental right for all Californians.
Proposition 4: Oppose - California already dedicates billions of dollars, from multiple sources to climate programs. Bonds of this nature should be prioritized for other issues facing the state and include strict transparency and accountability measures to ensure proper use.
Proposition 5: Oppose - ACA 1 is a direct attack on our Prop. 13 taxpayer protections. It dismantles taxpayer safeguards that have been in place for more than 40 years and makes it easier to raise local bonds for virtually any purpose.
Proposition 6: Oppose - Prohibits the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from disciplining any incarcerated person for refusing a work assignment.
Proposition 32: Oppose - Increases the state minimum wage to $18 per hour by 2026. Increases in minimum wage have adverse impacts on the cost of living and disproportionately affect small businesses — causing jobs to be destroyed and prices to rise.
Proposition 33: Oppose -Prop 33 would allow city councils to impose rent control on privately owned single-family homes and could even lead to unelected bureaucrats charging homeowners a fee for taking their homes off the rental market. According to the state’s Independent Legislative Analysis, Prop 33 will lead to a loss of revenue for local governments across the state, and could result in higher local property taxes — making housing more expensive.
Proposition 34: Oppose
Proposition 35: Support
Proposition 36: Support - California has an epidemic of drug use, trafficking, and repeat retail theft because people committing these crimes do not face any serious consequences. Prop 36 will create real accountability for breaking these laws. Prop 36 will reduce crime by enforcing tougher laws against retail crime and will make stores in every community safer for customers and employees. It will also punish those who traffic fentanyl, and encourage those with drug addiction to enter into and finish drug treatment programs.
